The Safe Deposit Locker is a service which provides customers with the facility for safe keeping of valuables like gold, Jewellery and other important and confidential documents by hiring a locker from the Bank. Lockers can be hired by individuals, firms, trusts, and companies subject to ongoing compliance with the CDD criteria under the Master Direction — Know Your Customer (KYC) Directions, 2016 (as updated from time to time).

It is always beneficial to avail the benefits of the nomination facility/ survivorship clause provided to locker-hirers. The major advantage of availing these facilities is that in the event of the unfortunate death of one of the joint locker-hirer, the right to the contents of the locker does not automatically devolve on the surviving joint locker-hirer/ nominee (s), unless there is a survivorship clause/ nomination.
