Vijay Co-operative Bank Ltd. was instituted by Sh. Natwarlal Prabhudas Patel in the year 1973. Its registered office then was situated in Naroda at the Vijay Mills. The prime objective of commencement of Vijay Bank was to work for the less fortunate members of the community by enhancing their economic enterprises and create ample funds for providing financial aid to all deserving members, especially self employed women. Thus, inspired by lofty ideas, Vijay Co-operative Bank was brought into existence for the betterment of economical backward members of the community. With a modest beginning having only 91 members, Vijay Bank has grown like a banyan tree spreading immensely. After 50 years of smooth functioning, the bank has now 28590 members associated with it. (Figure as on 31st March 2022). The bank's area of operation is the entire Gujarat.


The bank has prominently grown over the years, not only in terms of network and members, but also the varied Services it has to offer. From Fixed & Recurring Deposits to Loans & Advances, Vijay Co-operative Ltd. has accomplished for itself a niche position in the Co-operative Banking sector. Although, it commenced with the motive of promoting the less privileged members of the society, it has attained for itself a position wherein it offers Insurance Policies as well as Loans for standardizing lives of a varied sector.
